Discipline - Principles of Teenage Discipline
by Corrie Lynne Player

Successfully Raising Teenagers Without Losing Your Mind
Disciplining your teenagers involves (1) understanding
“teen logic,” (2) handling your anger appropriately and avoiding
contention whenever possible, and (3) maintaining consistency.
In addition to these three key concepts, you should know
how to handle the most common areas for family fights:
 | Curfews for teenagers
- Teenager curfews need to be consistent, specific, and enforced. |
 | Dress standards
for teenagers - Dress and makeup standards should be simple:
anything clean and modest is okay, and nothing irreversible is
permitted. |
 | Telephone and e-mail use for teenagers |
Finally, you must be able to set appropriate
consequences for unacceptable actions. You must help your teens, with
their incomplete brains, to understand cause and effect. Somehow, you must
convince them that if they pick up one end of a stick, they pick up the
other.
