Mapletree Publishing Company was featured in a local story
in the Cedar Rapids Gazette on
January 17, 2003. It featured David Hall with his new
LDS game,
Mortality, that is now being carried by local Drug Town stores.
The story, a
main feature on the front page of the Gazette's "Iowa Today" section, tells
how the game is based on principles of overcoming adversity and helping your
neighbor. We think it highlights how L.D.S. concepts and products can be
accepted with a general audience and in a general market.

| On a trip to Brazil in late November, David Hall and his son
Brian made contacts to arrange for the possible publication of our board game,
Mortality, in Brazil. Test marketing gave us exciting results. We're
presently working on getting the game translated and making contacts with
designers and printers in Brazil. It will be a while before we can get the
game to Brazil, but we have the contacts in place.
We also made some preliminary contacts to publish Portuguese translations of
some of our books in Brazil. |

David Hall, Janete Obata, and Brian Hall
posed with a proof copy of the game box.
Janete Obata is our liaison in Brazil.
